The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Adult BLS, AED and Management of Analphylaxis(RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for individuals to develop their skills and knowledge in basic life support (BLS), using a defibrillator AED and managing anaphylaxis in emergency situations.This qualification has been designed for people who have a specific interest or responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide BLS interventions, safely use an AED and manage a casualty suffering from anaphylaxis.
This qualification contains 1 mandatory unit with a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 4 hours.
The qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of:

Entry requirements
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training and be able to perform practical tasks at floor level. There are no other formal entry requirements but we strongly recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a first aider in their workplace. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide first aid in voluntary and community activities.
Over a 3 day period, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including: assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis and more.
The course is via a blended learning route with one day distance leaning and two days face to face at one of our Birmingham or Daventry venues. Distance learning must be completed before the face-to-face classroom session and all assessments must take place in the classroom.
For this qualification, QA has created a First Aid at Work blended learning package which includes 6 hours of ‘state of the art’ e-Learning content and a dedicated course overview and lesson plan to support the classroom elements for both FAW and FAW requalification.

Level 3 Mental Health First Aid at Work (RQF)

Supporting the people around us who are experiencing poor mental health has become a priority for many people and the organisations they work in. A greater understanding of common mental health issues has developed over the last few years and there has been a rise in the number of people who want to act as a Mental Health First Aider, to support and guide those around them. By developing a greater understanding of common mental health issues, as well as how best to support and guide someone experiencing poor mental health, Mental Health First Aiders play a vital role in reducing the stigma associated with mental health in the UK.
Throughout this 2-day online course, learners will develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to actively promote positive mental health in the workplace by covering a range of topics, including: understanding mental health and its importance, awareness of their own wellbeing as a Mental Health First Aider, common mental health conditions, how to support those experiencing poor mental health at work with tools such as active listening and non-judgemental support.

- Raise their awareness of the signs and symptoms associated with mental health problems both related to the workplace and in the general public
- Be able to actively listen and feel confident to have a conversation with individuals suffering potential mental ill-health
- Be able to assist with policy writing and risk assessments for mental health in the workplace
- Direct anyone with potential mental health problems to a reliable source of support both internally and externally
Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF)

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) qualification is an introduction to teaching for those who work or would like to work in the further education and skills sector for further education (FE) colleges, independent training providers or Local Authorities. It is also an excellent qualification for trainers and individuals that wish to enhance their presentation and workshop skills.
Learners will build an understanding of the specific roles and responsibilities related to planning and delivering inclusive training sessions.
Topics covered include: maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, relationships between teachers and other teaching professionals, assessing learners and providing constructive and developmental feedback.
This qualification forms part of the QA Education and Training suite of qualifications and replaces the QA Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF). As with the previous mentioned qualification, this qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of:

2022 Professional Standards for Teachers and Trainers in Education and Training
This QA qualification is designed to provide Trainee Trainers with an introduction to teaching/training in the further education and skills sector. It is a knowledge-based teaching qualification which has no minimum teaching practice requirement, and therefore, it may be undertaken by individuals who are not currently in a teaching or training role.
This qualification has a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 120 hours. Trainee Trainers must complete all assessments in all mandatory units and the assessments from the chosen optional unit successfully within the registration period to achieve the qualification. The maximum period to achieve this qualification, including any referrals is 12 months.
Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (RQF)

The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (RQF) has been specifically designed for those who wish to undertake qualification assessment of vocationally related qualifications, for which they are occupationally competent to deliver/assess.
This may include individuals who are currently working in a mentoring, teaching or training capacity. During this comprehensive course, learners will cover a variety of topics including the principles and practices of assessment, as well how to prepare and carry out assessments of vocational skills, knowledge and understanding.
This qualification contains 2 mandatory units with a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 90 hours. Full details of these units are in Appendix 1.
Trainee assessors must complete all assessments in the units successfully within the registration period to achieve the qualification. The maximum period to achieve this qualification, including any referrals is 24 months.
TQT is the total number of hours required for a Trainee assessor to achieve this qualification. It has 2 elements:
Guided Learning Hours (GLH) is the time a Trainee assessor is being taught and assessed under the immediate guidance of a Trainer/Assessor, which for this qualification is 54 GLH (minimum).
The number of hours a Trainee assessor will reasonably be likely to spend in preparation and study by but not under the immediate guidance or supervision of a Trainer, e.g. pre-course reading, which for this qualification is 36 hours.
Entry requirements
Trainee Trainers must be at least 19 years old on the first day of the training. Trainee assessors must have access to learners completing vocationally related qualifications in order to generate the evidence required to complete this qualification.
We advise that Trainees have a minimum of Level 2 in English. If Trainees do not have Level 2 in English, they should record their development needs and agree an action plan to address them.
